Join the effort to strengthen our community and create opportunities for artists and creative entrepreneurs with a gift to Spaceworks Tacoma!
For 15 years Spaceworks has partnered with the City of Tacoma to harness creativity as a catalyst for economic vitality, equitable growth, and community connection. As we prepare for our 15-year anniversary and annual fundraiser, CACHET, we invite you to celebrate the artists and entrepreneurs who make our city thrive—and explore how we can deepen our collaboration to strengthen Tacoma’s future through our public-private partnership between the Chamber and the City.
Why It Matters:
Since 2010, Spaceworks has supported over 900 artists and creative entrepreneurs combined, activated 50+ vacant storefronts, and become a national model for creative placemaking. Donations ensure this work continues— directly supporting local talent.
Donations to Spaceworks, a program of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber & Chamber Foundation, are tax-deductible in accordance with all governing laws.
Honor Diana Leigh Surma’s Creative Legacy

Diana was a beloved artist whose vibrant murals and installations brought joy, inspiration, and beauty to our community. Her passion for art and her dedication to our mission made a lasting impact, and we deeply miss her creativity, spirit, and collaboration.
To celebrate her life and continue her legacy, you can make a donation in her memory. Your gift will fund an annual mural project, paying an artist to create public art in her honor—keeping her love for Tacoma and transformative art alive year after year.
Dedicate your donation in Diana’s memory by selecting the option below. Together, we can ensure her vision continues to inspire.
“The forms and content in my work represent an ongoing fascination with the fickleness of color and its chameleon-like ability to create illusions of transparency, opacity and three-dimensional space. I aspire to share my passion for pigment and publicart as a leader, artist and art educator in the Pacific Northwest.”
