Spaceworks’ Incubator provides relevant and meaningful small business training, technical assistance, workshops, coaching, and peer-to-peer support to entrepreneurs creating or growing Tacoma-based businesses. We work with a growing roster of innovative, creative businesses that are strengthening our economy and making Tacoma a destination city.
We encourage entrepreneurs who are seeking to launch or grow a thriving business to participate in our Incubator program. To join, you must attend our hands-on, step-by-step, strategy-building entrepreneurial success workshop. Anyone is welcome to participate, but registration is required. Creative Colloquy fosters the writing community in the South Sound through unique literary events and publications. Monthly reading events feature authors published on the website followed by an open mic and occasional live music intermissions. Creative Colloquy gatherings aim to lure writers out from the solitary activity of writing itself to connect with like minds and fuel inspiration and love of their craft.
The Arts & Crafts Press
The Arts & Crafts Press is a small letterpress printing studio. They produce greeting cards, note cards and limited-edition block prints from hand-cut blocks in a hybrid style of Japanese woodcuts and Wester letterpress. All current note cards and prints are designed by Yoshiko Yamamoto. The Arts & Crafts Press is Spaceworks participant since 2014.
RR Anderson & Darcy Anderson
Tinkertopia diverts safe+clean remnants, seconds, scraps, off-cuts, discards, misprints, and overstock from the waste stream, then redistributes these goods as low-cost arts & crafts supplies. Besides selling unique art and craft supplies, Tinkertopia hosts studio/work space for birthday parties, field trips, and craft parties. Spaceworks participant since 2012.
Write253 is a Tacoma non-profit that offers kids from underserved neighborhoods rich and interesting writing experiences to enhance and support their school curriculums. Write253 immerses students in innovative forms of the written word through workshops, field trips, and tutoring. Spaceworks participant since 2011.
