Fern + Foster is a team of perinatal providers: a nurse-midwife, a lactation consultant, and a doula. Emily Ager, Olivia Arakawa and Danielle Schell boast a breadth of professional knowledge and experience in dealing with perinatal challenges. Fern + Foster is a place for Tacoma families to access care and community during their early years. Its mission is to “Reduce maternal and infant health disparities, and cultivate community among the families of Tacoma by providing a community hub of relevant perinatal services such as lactation consultation, childbirth and lactation education, fertility services, support groups, playgroups, exercise classes, mental health services, a retail space, and a lounge, all under one roof. Our integrated approach is essential to confront the complex causes of health disparities in our community, and our multi-disciplinary team of providers is committed to providing a holistic, equitable, and accessible model of care.”
