Snag, Morning Routine II, and Exiting Plato’s Cave

I mean to make things that I enjoy and that is what drives me to create.

Frozen, plastered to the wall. Stuck within the act of motion. Weight being held by only a
single pin. My body hangs limp. Am I a tiny person held up by a normal sized push pin or a
normal sized person held up by an incredibly large push pin?

Morning Man relaxes with his cup of joe and the stocks before he’s off to work. Except
Morning Man isn’t fully relaxed. He is not in the comfort of his living room or anywhere close.
He has been suspended, the stable ground removed from beneath his size 9 ½ feet.
Long and Wiggly my body dangles. Stuck or not?

These pieces represent the playful nature of my work. It is strange and slightly confusing but
overall enjoyable. Viewers are able to make their own meaning through their personal interaction
with the piece but my own meaning, most importantly, is made through the creation of the piece.
I mean to make things that I enjoy and that is what drives me to create.
