Working Class Theater NW (WCTNW) had a one-month residency in The Post Office Building, on the 4th floor courtroom in November 2013. WCTNW was founded in 2013 by Christina Hughes and Tim Samland. The nonprofit community theater was recently honored with a mention in The Weekly Volcano’s Best of 2014 issue under Best Handout for its free production of A Life in the Theatre. Working Class Theater Northwest’s mission is to provide and encourage an inexpensive, high-quality theatre experience that is grounded in the diverse culture of Tacoma. Working Class Theater Northwest builds community through production of theatre that is socially conscious and relevant to the issues of working class people today.
