Spaceworks welcomes Dion Thomas as an Events Intern. Thomas, a Spaceworks alum, will be working to help expand Spaceworks’ reach by growing the program’s social media platform presence in addition to assisting with marketing and event coordination. You can expect to see him at various Spaceworks happenings this summer, and manning the Spaceworks booth at the Stadium Fare on the last two Saturday’s of July, August, and September.
Thomas was born and raised in Tacoma and is passionate about influencing the art and cultural scene in the community. He studied Media Design and Production at Clover Park Technical College which earned him an array of skills in that realm—ranging from graphic design, videography and photography to web design. Dion puts his passion and skills to use on his project the “Gallery of Ambition” which showcases local artists, and designers. The Gallery of Ambition hosted a landmark photo competition last February titled “Shoot the T” which called on the community to show off their best shots of our beloved city… they received over 2,500 submissions! The Gallery of Ambition graduated from the Spaceworks program, so we are very excited that Dion can continue to help with the program in new ways.
“I am excited to be a part of the organization and anxious to learn from the staff and from the experience itself. This is an amazing opportunity and I am proud to be here,” Thomas said.
