“My name is Sophia Munic, I am an print maker fascinated with how to apply traditional printmaking techniques to sculpture and collage. My recent work focuses on translating simple shapes from two dimensional images and incorporating them into sculptures, investigating how this change in dimension alters the image itself. I am intrigued by the properties of color and how they can alter an object. Even when a piece is abstract, color can describe the work itself. When I am not working on sculpture I layer my screen prints onto old drawings to see how one print can transform an old drawing. Often I use this method to explore my intrigue with selfie culture and our individuality.”
