Since the early days of COVID-19, we’ve heard from our community, where can I go to support local artists? How can I hire a designer or support small businesses? Spaceworks has long dreamed of showcasing Tacoma’s creative talent on a single platform and after weeks of research and testing, we’re excited to launch Tacoma’s Creatives!
Free for ALL local creative professionals, we hope that this directory offers inspiration, community, and new clients and customers. We want to show off the breadth and depth of our creative economy and to highlight the collective impact of so many talented individuals.
Phase 1 of the launch is to encourage creatives to create their profile (thank you to our group initial testers!). Phase 2, starting next month, is to actively promote this site throughout Tacoma and within the business community.
We’re really excited that this platform is both highly visual AND searchable. We can now search by categories, like, “murals + public art“, “women-owned business“, or “Hilltop“.
We’ve also added a special category called “COVID-19 Response“, as we believe that creatives can offer unique skills and perspectives that will aid in our city’s recovery. (Anyone ready to bring back the WPA??)
Like many efforts right now, we’re trying something new and learning along the way. We’d love to hear any tips or suggestions to help this grow and improve.
