Bob’s Bar-B-Q Restaurant is a family business that offers phenomenal BBQ from recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation.
Bob’s BBQ Pit was originally started by Bob and Elizabeth, a husband-and-wife team. Bob grew up in Palestine, Texas where he learned to grill at the early age of nine from his aunt, Tiny. After enlisting in the army, Bob learned professional culinary skills through his role as a cook. After the war, he and his wife, Elizabeth moved to Tacoma where they opened up Bob’s-BBQ -Pit in 1948. In 1974, Bob passed away and Elizabeth managed it until she retired in 1983. Elizabeth taught her children and grandchildren Bob’s recipes to carry on the family tradition. Bob’s BBQ is now owned and operated by Elizabeth and Bob’s daughter, Carolyn and her sons Michael and Jonathan Clark.
