The “Five Mile Wild” mural will be familiar to anyone who has taken a drive or stroll through Point Defiance Park and encountered its bold raccoon residents.

“They have been known to approach vehicles and beg for food as they slowly pass. It is very clearly posted “Do Not Feed Wildlife” on the park website and other locations, however, people still come from all over to do it. Though it’s detrimental for various reasons, it’s clear what the raccoons prefer by the looks of the posted sign having cheese-dusted claw marks on it.”
