A creative reuse center opened in downtown Tacoma in July 2013! It is a destination for teachers, students, artists, crafters, inventors, makers, hackers, and tinkerers of any age in search of unique reclaimed materials for any creative endeavor. Tinkertopia diverts safe+clean remnants, seconds, scraps, off-cuts, discards, misprints, and overstock from the waste stream then redistributes these goods as low-cost arts & crafts supplies. Besides selling unique art and craft supplies, Tinkertopia hosts studio/workspace for birthday parties, field trips, and craft parties. They moved on June 1, 2013, applied a fresh coat of paint, moved in loads of product from their home and storage units, and opened their doors!
